While we all know that Michelle is currently filming for ‘Mr Eleven’, it is less known that she has a cameo appearance in the BBC’s ‘Merlin’ which is set to air this autumn. Exciting news for fans of Michelle in America is that NBC have already bought the rights to show it on Primetime TV next spring. Now I can’t be sure just how big a role Michelle has, but she’s in it and that’s enough for me, lol. The show also stars British greats Richard Wilson and Anthony Stewart Head.
The BBC’s new telling of Merlin is to air on primetime TV in the States. The 13-part series, which stars One Foot In The Grave’s Richard Wilson, will air in the Doctor Who slot on BBC One from the autumn. The show will then get its US outing on NBC the following Spring.
The move is a reversal of the usual import-export process, where US shows air on UK networks after their domestic broadcast.
We are really being spoilt at the moment with all these pics of Michelle, not that I’m complaining.. So here are the next batch and they are taken from the Telefilm Festival 2008 at Press Conferences for ‘Bionic Woman’. Oh and one small site issue fixed - Their is now a link to older entries at the bottom of the page..wohoo, lol.
This is a special one for all you die hard Michelle fans.. I have been super busy uploading more videos. Back when Michelle was playing Zoe Slater in ‘Eastenders’, the BBC made a documentary series ‘Eastenders Revealed’ and I have just finished adding all four parts of the Zoe Slater episode. So, if you’ve never seen Michelle in Eastenders then it’s the perfect place to catch up, and if you were an ‘Eastenders fan’ then maybe it’s just a great trip down memory lane.
Each clip includes cast thoughts on ‘Zoe’, and of course Michelle’s thoughts, but also it follows Michelle as she joins a Wildlife Sacntuary for the day. enjoy
Thanks to Mandy for the heads up - Michelle has been out again, this time at the World Premiere for ‘Sex and the City’ which for some reason was held riht here in the UK. Michelle looks so gorgeous in Purple.. Hopefully more picture from this event will surface.
Just a quick update, I am having a few e-mail problems, and it isn’t letting me reply to any e-mails at the moment. Not sure what’s happened, but I am looking into it. If you have mailed us recently and got no reply then please be assured we have read them, just unable to respond at the moment.
Another thing, the message boards, now I took down the link a while back because the numbers over there of people posting were pretty low and I am so very busy with other parts of this site, and my other sites. I made the desicion to take down the link and see how people responded. Basically if people had been very upset then I would have put it back. It seems that only two people have actually contacted the site to ask for it back, and to be fair that’s not really enough for me to feel I can run it. I hope you can all understand the desicion. The board is still on the old url, but I’m not adding to it at the moment, and may take it down completely in a few months.
I am sorry for not getting these up sooner, but I have to be honest, I have been too busy making the most of the gorgeous weather here on the south coast of the UK.. Anyway, finally I have added the gorgeous shots of Michelle as she attended a special VIP screening of ‘Cashback’ on 6th May.. Oh and I promise you can see her face in all of these over at the gallery - darned thumbnails, lol.
Well, some may disagree with Michelle’s desicion, but she apparantly turned down an offer to pose for top men’s magazine ‘Playboy’.
English actress Michelle Ryan has revealed that she was asked by Playboy boss Hugh Hefner to pose naked for the men’s magazine. Though she found the offer very interesting and flattering, Ryan turned it down as she didn’t think it was the right time. “It was very strange and flattering to be asked. However I didn’t think it was the right time,” The Sun quoted her, as saying.
There’s an interview with Michelle over at The Independent, and it’s definitely worth a look..
Michelle Ryan, 24, is better known in Britain as the’Eastenders’ character Zoe Slater. Since her departure from the BBC soap, she has achieved international fame starring in the US series ‘The Bionic Woman’, which will be available on DVD from 12 May.
If I weren’t talking to you right now I’d be…
On my way to meet the director of my new job for a coffee. I’ve just finished working on Mr Eleven for ITV2. It’s a cross between Bridget Jones and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. My character is Saz, a school teacher obsessed with marrying her eleventh sexual partner.
The most surprising thing that happened to me was…
I was in LA last year doing a conference for Bionic Woman and somebody shouted out “Zoe.” It doesn’t matter where I go or what I do, I’m always going to be associated with Eastenders!
You know me as an actress but in another life I’d have been …
A zoologist. Or something that definitely involves travel and animals. I really would love to go jungle trekking in Peru.
So, today I have been busy with a couple of my sites creating new looks. The last one for today is this one, and I have to say I really do love it, lol. It uses another of my favourite photoshoots of Michelle, and I think the colours and the style of font etc work well. Now the other thing I noticed was that this site was apparantly created by Gertie last May, so that would make it a year online! woohoo. Now I can’t be sure of the exact date but it’s May now and that’s good enough for me. So, a huge happy birthday to the site from me.. May there be many more years to come!
It may not have lasted as long as we’d hoped but the UK has taken ‘Bionic Woman’ to it’s hearts and Michelle is very happy:
Michelle Ryan has admitted she is overwhelmed by the popularity of her new drama The Bionic Woman in the UK. The US series has proven to be a hit on British soil after recording the highest ever viewing figures for ITV2.
Michelle said: “It was great when I heard the viewing figures, it kind of mirrored what happened in the US when my boss called me and said, ‘Have you seen the ratings? There’s 15 million viewers.’ Then I got the call over here and it was the same thing. “It’s so good because when you work that hard and you put everything into it, it’s great that people like it so much. It’s almost like a Girl Power thing.”
Despite the success of the series though, the LA writers strike has prevented the series coming around for a second stint indefinitely. She added: “It brought production to a halt and then they just decided not to bring it back.”
